I Have Been Wheat Free for 5 Months Now. Great Way to Live

I have posted a few articles on this blog and others about going wheat free.  Wheat today is genetically altered and it has caused numerous health related consequences to people worldwide.  In fact, the incidence of diabetes has risen right along with the introduction of the genetically altered wheat.  I watched Dr. Oz do a  show about this.  He had some ladies eat a wheat free slice of bread on one day and then take their blood sugars.  The next day they ate a candy bar and also took their blood sugars.  Interestingly, the blood sugars were higher in the majority of the women who ate the wheat free bread.

There is so much more to know about wheat and this article would have to be about 100 pages long in order to cover it.  A book, Wheat Belly, explains it all. I bought the book and read it. It lead me to go wheat free on Christmas Day of 2012. Here we are in May of 2013 and my health is better than ever. I am riding a bicycle at least 200 miles each week, my blood pressure is down, my joint pain has disappeared, I have more energy than ever, and I have lost some weight.  I owe it all to going wheat free.

This is just a quick primer on how wheat free lifestyles can change people.  You can go get the book and read all about it. If you have tried everything else and you still feel bad, you owe it to yourself to try out a wheat free lifestyle.

If nothing else motivates you, maybe this will. Just two years ago, I weighed 267 pounds.  Today, I weigh 197 pounds (I am 6'1") and I am preparing to ride a 24 hour road race where I will ride at least 200 miles in the 24 hour period.  One month later, I am going to tour across West Texas and into New Mexico and then back again in only 10 days. The ride will be 650 miles long.  I can do this because of the wheat free diet I hold true to.  Give it a look.

Cilantro and Parsley Can Cut Your Body's Toxins

There are lots of foods that can help cut the horrible toxins that build up in our bodies because of the foodstuff we eat. Foodstuff is what I call what manufacturers have fooled us into thinking is actually food.  Go to a grocery store and walk up and down the aisles and all you will see is foodstuff. Things that look like food but are actually full of chemicals and empty calories. They are usually in boxes or some metal container.

There are lots of great foods out there that are real. I am never unfulfilled. I eat plenty of meat, eggs, vegetables, fruit, and nuts and feel healthier and happier than ever. I will talk about dozens of different foods that you can eat to change your life but right now I want to talk about two foods that can help clear out the toxins that are in your body. They are cilantro and parsley.

Parsley cleanses your entire blood supply and it will also give you fresh breath. It is the chlorophyll in it that it cleanse your whole system. Cilantro binds with heavy metals. Many people get mercury and other metals in their body from things they eat or the packages they are in and even from dental fillings. Cilantro will bind with the mercury and take it out of your body.  Mercury is not only a toxin, it is a neurotoxin and this is something you do not want in your body.

These two simple to add ingredients can do wonders for you. I will cover other great foods that can help you. Small steps can lead to big changes.

Diets Don't Work - Adopt a Healthy Lifestyle Instead

I am going to push forward with my thoughts on the diet industry. Remember, the first article in this blog, and the reason for the blog in the first place was to address if Nodiet worked. Of course, I don't think it works because it is a diet. I got stuck in all the diet nonsense and lost weight only to gain it back plus some. I did this over and over and over until I was pre-diabetic, fat, and miserable. Today, I am leaner, happier, healthy and I am able to ride a bicycle over 5,000 miles in a single year.

I did this by adopting a healthier lifestyle that took me off of all the foodstuff that society now considers to be food.  If it is in a box, I don't eat it any longer. Processed foods are killing us. Food will save you.

A study done at UCLA once demonstrated that 90 to 95% of the people who went on a diet gained all of their weight back plus some. Doesn't that show you that diets are only temporary? You want to temporarily lose weight which really means you want to temporarily get healthier. That is crazy.

One third of all women and one fourth of all men are on a diet right now.  They will almost all go off of those diets.  A very few people will change their lifestyle and even fewer will stick to that new lifestyle. These are the people who are healthy and do not worry about the wild swings of weight loss and the resulting weight gain.

Think about it. You know that I am right.  How many times have you told yourself you are going to change only to start binging within a few hours? You go to bed felling like crap and you wake up the next morning and you decide this is the day you will change only to go through it all over again. This craziness just perpetuates over and over.  I never thought I could break that cycle until I found out that wheat was what was doing it to me.

As I mentioned in the post just below this one, wheat is in almost every processed food out there and it is killing us. I went to a wheat free lifestyle. Notice I did not go to a wheat free diet.  A diet will come to an end. A lifestyle continues.  I have no wheat cravings. I have no cravings of any kind now. I eat naturally and I am losing weight and am near my perfect weight. I ride a road bicycle for miles and miles and miles and I never get tired anymore.  I broke out of the diet nonsense and I am glad I did.

You came to this blog to see if liquid protein works. You want a quick fix.  Don't do it. Change your lifestyle. It really is easy.  If you have Netflix, go watch the Documentary "Hungry for Change."  If it does not open your eyes, nothing will.

The Real Problem With Weight Loss and Weight Gain

Whether you go on a diet or think you are just eating healthy, the fact is that we live in a world where our food simply is not really food anymore. It actually looks like food but it isn't and as soon as you realize this, you have a chance of finally getting to the weight you belong and being healthy again. There is so much I can say about this topic and I will say plenty in many posts over the next few weeks, but I want to start with something that you might be surprised by; wheat in your diet.

That's right. Wheat. Everybody knows that wheat is a staple in our diets and that bread, especially whole wheat bread is a food that must be included in our diets.  I am here to say WRONG!  The wheat that we eat today is not the same wheat that our parents and grandparents ate and that is why they could eat bread, biscuits, pancakes, and all those wonderful wheat based products without gaining weight. The wheat we eat today is not anywhere near the same wheat of yesteryear. It has been altered and the damage it is doing to our bodies is unbelievable.

Dr. William Davis, a cardiologist and author of "Wheat Belly" contends that the wheat we eat today was genetically altered so that farmers could raise a tenfold crop compared to the old wheat and so the wheat could resist drought conditions.  Much is said of how this new wheat has addressed the food shortage problem of the world, but not much is said of how this new wheat is contributing to the ever increasing obesity epidemic that has ballooned into a health crisis that threatens to put unbearable stress on our economy and kill millions of us earlier than it should.

Dr, Davis paints a picture of gloom and doom through his book that is full of scientific talk that is a little difficult to understand at times. But, one thing stands out. The wheat that is grown and put into almost all of our food today can cause addictions that will make you continue eating. He basically says, in a long and detailed explanation, that there is a protein in the new wheat that binds itself to the brain in the same way that cocaine binds and cause addictions.  I am stating that in a basic summary. To fully understand what he is saying, you would have to read his book.

I can tell you this much.  I ate a lot of wheat. Processed foods are full of wheat and I ate nothing but processed foods, which I think should not be called food but foodstuff instead.  After reading Wheat Belly, I went to a wheat free lifestyle. It has now been a month and I feel better than ever.  My cravings are completely gone. It is as if someone reached into my brain and flipped off a switch and my cravings disappeared. I no longer eat between meals. If anyone had told me a few weeks ago that I could break these cravings, I would have laughed at them.  I now realize it was the wheat that was causing it.  That protein that binds itself to the brain is gone and I am satisfied.

I will report on these things in the posts coming up. If you want to know what "Wheat Belly" is you can go to Amazon and read the details about the book and read the reviews. Those reviews are going to paint a picture of hope for you if you were like me. Just go check it out.  You do not need a diet. Diets don't work. I don't envision going off a diet. Diets are started to be broken.  My wheat free diet is actually a lifestyle.  It is easy. There is plenty of real food out there. Getting off of the processed junk out there was the best thing I did. Maybe you should check it out.

I don't care if you buy the book through that link. I think you owe it to yourself to check it out. Yes, you can get it through Amazon or you can drive to your local bookstore and buy it. Either way, check it out. I think you will be shocked to see how the manufacturers of our foodstuff are killing us and how you can avoid being one of the unknowing.

Before Trying a NoDiet Type Product Read Wheat Belly

I have told you what I think of NoDiet but I do not think I should say that I do not think it works and then just leave you to find something that does.  I recently watched an episode on Dr. Oz with Dr. William Davis who is the author of Wheat Belly.  Dr. Davis says that the wheat we eat is not the same wheat that our parents and grandparents ate back in the 1950's and before.  IT has been genetically altered and the ramifications for society are profoundly disastrous.

Basically, Dr. Davis says that going wheat free will help you lose weight and regain your health.  He goes into great detail in his book, but it is easy to read and makes a lot of sense.  To make a long story short, I decided to adopt a wheat free lifestyle and have already seen some pretty amazing changes.

If Nodiet Does Not Work, What Does? How About Weight Watchers?

If you still think Nodiet works after reading the blog to here, go ahead and pay nearly $50 for your 1 month supply.  If you think it does not work and are wondering what does work, try out Weight Watchers.  For about $50, you will get total access to their plan for 3 months.  If you use the program for 3 months, you will most likely lose most of the weight you are wanting to lose.

Weight Watchers has a web presence, uses really cool apps that sync with the web, and you can also utilize their meetings in the town you live.  Weight Watchers assigns points to all foods and beverages and gives you an amount of points that you can have daily based on your weight and amount of weight loss you desire.  You merely find the foods you want to eat and it tells you the points and even figures out how many you have left.  The program gives you food choices, figures out your nutritional figures, and even provides recipes, as well as forums where you can interact with others who are doing what you are doing.

I am not affiliated with Weight Watchers.  I am merely saying that it works and it is safe.  My doctor told me to use it and I lost a great deal of weight and have kept it off for a few years.  Give it a try.  You might like what you see.  There may be a link on this page to a Weight Watchers site.  If not, just Google it.
